Details, Details, Details
What I do
I help newlyweds achieve their financial goals, so they can spend more time doing what they love with the people they love.
Who I work with
I work with Professionals in medicine, academia, business, tech, marketing, law, and with entrepreneurs. I work with people who want to control their finances – not let their finances control them. I work with families who strive for new personal bests, who hike or bike the great outdoors, love to go to the park, the rink or the field, or who aim to control their destiny.
Who I am
I hold an MBA, Honours B.A. in economics, a post graduate certificate in Professional Financial Services, and nearly 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry. When I am not helping my clients protect and grow their wealth, you will find me spending time with my wife Chantel, cycling London’s country roads, hiking Southwestern Ontario, planning my next travel adventure, and making sourdough bread (because every good athlete needs an excuse to carb load). I also volunteer with the London Central Lions.
What I offer
Let’s work together to create a path to the future you want. I build plans that will help you prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
How it works
We’ll work together to:
- Define your goals
- We’ll uncover where you are now, where you want to get to, what gaps or challenges you face getting there, and what opportunities we can find to make it reality
- Gather information and discuss your objectives
- A thorough review of your finances will provide the insight we need to create an objective data-driven plan, tailored to you
- Analyze your overall financial situation
- Once we’ve gathered your information, we’ll research strategies and approaches to get you to your desired outcomes
- Discuss and implement your recommended plan
- Once you feel comfortable and thoroughly understand the plan, including answering any questions you may have, we’ll implement the plan to make your dream a reality
- Track your performance
- The plan doesn’t start and stop after the first meeting. Through on-going tracking of the performance of your plan, we can closely monitor your progress
- Refine your plan
- Life happens. We’ll meet and check-in often to discuss review how your plan is going and make the adjustments needed to keep on track. We’ll continue to do this for the life of relationship together. Whether you’re welcome an new addition to your family, you’ve decided to retire sooner, or gone through a career change, whatever new chapter your life brings, we’ll bring that into your plan
How to schedule your conversation with me
There are two simple options to set-up our conversation together:
- Call my office at (519) 657-0293 any time between 9:30am and 4:30pm EST. My office administrator, Steven, will answer the phone and assist you in finding a convenient time
- Email me at [email protected] with your full name, phone number, and a proposal of dates and times that can work for you. I will call or email back to coordinate a time
P.S. I’ve seen firsthand how much a good financial advisor can change people’s lives. Don’t let uncertainty or fear keep you from getting started today.
Frequently asked questions
- Will meeting with you be high pressure?
- Not at all. My goal is to provide you with an honest, professional assessment of where you currently stand and offer insights on ways you can improve your plan if you choose to. I understanding that finances are personal, and any next steps will be up to you.
- What if I already have a financial advisor?
- That’s perfectly fine. Many of my clients had a financial advisor, but they also wanted a second opinion to ensure they are on the right track. Given the big new change of getting married, now is the perfect time to have an advisor provide a wholistic view of both of your finances, together.
- How long will a meeting take?
- I respect your time, and I know you are busy. That’s why we’ll keep the first meeting to about 45 minutes. We can cover a lot of ground in that time.
- Is there a cost or obligation for a conversation with you?
- The first meeting is 100% complimentary. There’s no cost, and there’s no obligation to move forward after our conversation. I want you to feel confident about bringing your finances together – whether that means working with me or simply confirming you’re already on the right path.
- Where do the meetings take place?
- In person at my office, in person at your home, over zoom, or over the phone. Whichever is most convenient for you.
- What should I bring to a meeting?
- Bringing your financial statements, a list of questions, and any goals you want to achieve as a couple can help us make the most of our time. However, if you’re not sure where to start, don’t worry – I’ll guide you through every step.
- Can I bring my partner or family member?
- Yes, of course! Discussing your finances is often a family affair, especially if you might be receiving help paying for the cost of the wedding or receiving financial gifts at the reception. I encourage you to bring you partner/spouse or anyone else involved in your financial decisions.
