About
Waterloo Regional Police Association was established in 1972. The private club was created for police officers to escape into the country to relax and socialize. While the club was originally associated only with the police, word quickly spread of the venue and everything it had to offer.
“We started receiving inquires from the public asking if there was any way they could use the Grand Ballroom or Boardroom for personal use” says the team at WRPA. “We ended up opening those two entities to the general public and haven’t looked back since.” Over the past 40 years in business, the venue has hosted hundreds, if not thousands of weddings.
Maia Hillen was first attracted to Waterloo Regional Police Association because of the beautiful outdoor space. “I envisioned a cocktail hour with people having a beverage while shooting some hoops, playing baseball, playing tennis or being a kid again in the playground. I also liked that there was an indoor hall so there was an automatic back-up if it rained.” Aside from the setting, Maia was also attracted to venue because of the price. After researching several venues, she discovered the WRPA was the most reasonable. “They can work with a lower budget!”
Michaela and her fiancé Jonathan selected WRPA because of the accommodation as well. But the price and exceptional customer service were also deciding factors for them. Michaela also admits that the venue’s style, which was customizable was another selling feature.
“I found WRPA to be the most flexible” she says, adding that the staff was completely supportive with our requests.
The reason Lisa Stamper and her fiancé Kyle chose WRPA was because of the venue’s ability to accommodate her food sensitivities.
“They were also our top choice because they could accommodate the amount of people we had coming,” explains Lisa. “The Chef’s creativeness is nothing short of incredible and that is not even doing it justice. She made me food I haven’t been able to enjoy in years. I literally cried with happiness when we went for our tasting!”

“We have an open concept that can and has been transformed into several different environments. Anything from country rustic theme to chiffon with lace and everything in between. We have seen beach, Scottish, glamour and even Military themes.”
The WRPA team admits that she enjoys seeing how wedding trends evolve and love the challenge of constantly improving their services to meet those ongoing transformations. What keeps them inspired is hearing the positive feedback for their guests.
“The positive feedback we receive for our brides continuously fills our tanks and give us the energy to keep going in this high demand industry,” admits the team at WRPA. When asked why they think brides choose the WRPA, they answered that it’s undoubtedly the price point offered at a beautiful venue and also that they’re a fun team to work with. “We have a great history of satisfied brides and we get excited about the bride’s vision and are willing to think and work outside the box to see it come to fruition.”
According to Lisa, the prices were hands down the best in every way. “The superlative experience we received made it unbeatable. They completely fell within our budget and really had no comparison with the other vendors we interviewed.”
Lisa explains, “We decided to have a night cocktail reception with open bar and food stations. They worked with us to accommodate any slight changes we requested. The food was amazing and Chef Brenda captured our vision perfectly. She is very creative and open minded and added a few of her own touches that our guests couldn’t get enough of – like the candied bacon. All night we had guests coming up to us raving about the food. We definitely got our money’s worth when it came to food and drinks.”
Michaela also admits that the prices were the best in the area. “Immediately when we saw the cost per plate we wanted to make an appointment. Everything was well within our budget, and the value of the food and service we received on the wedding day exceeded the price we paid.”
“The WRPA worked with our budget and I had heard very good things about the food from other people that had rented the space,” explains Maia, who hosted an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour and the reception indoors. “I had a fabulous experience at the WRPA hall and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married in this area.”
