Rural Nova Scotia is home to a century old barn that has been given a new life as Windgate Weddings. It has been carefully restored and updated to retain its original historic charm, making it a perfect backdrop for a rustic yet elegant wedding venue.
Booking at Windgate Weddings includes three days of time on the property. There is a room with a bar on the main floor that includes a fridge, wine fridge, open icebox, and chalkboard signs. There is an area for the caterer to set up with tables which can be used as a lounge area afterward. The 60′ x 45′ barn loft features mini lights lining the uniquely curved ceiling, tables, mismatched chairs, and rustic touches throughout. The outside ceremony area includes a rustic arbor with views of the countryside and mountains. A covered porch connects you to the lower level which includes a unique chandelier. The barn is perfect for an indoor ceremony, lounge area, cocktail hour, and photos.
Included are an assortment of decorations such as table numbers, unique card boxes, and vases, along with parking signs, smoking areas, a fire pit, and outdoor lighting. There are various motels, cabins, and historic B&B’s nearby. Local transportation companies can provide easy access to your accommodations. You and your guests can enjoy local attractions and activities such as antique stores, shops, whale watching, golfing, local cuisine and the Bay of Fundy; home of the world’s highest tides.
