From childhood crushes to a moonlit proposal in Cuba, Holly and Dale’s love story came full circle with an intimate British Columbia mountain elopement. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery at Fairmont British Columbia, the couple traded a traditional wedding for a deeply personal celebration that reflected exactly who they are. With soft lilac tones, heartfelt vows, and the stunning backdrop of the mountains, their wedding day was romantic, emotional, and completely unforgettable. What began as a Pinterest-inspired dream quickly became the adventure of a lifetime — proving that sometimes the most meaningful weddings are the ones planned entirely from the heart.

TELL US YOUR STORY: "I've known my Husband since Pre school, we live in a small town and ended up going to school together and riding the bus until my family moved away in Grade 9. (also, he was my first crush, i use to write about him in my diary)
Many Years Later after my brother passed away he reached out to give his condolence's. After that, I didn't hear from him for years. Come 2012, we ended up living across the road from each other, (I was married to my ex husband at the time) but we reconnected. Eventually my ex and I moved away and over time we lost contact again. A year after moving I separated from my ex husband (March 2016)
July 2016, I received a Facebook msg asking if I was single or not.
The rest was History, we are still together.
Back in early 2024, after being together almost 7 years. my husband was
joking and said we should join bank accounts- I replied "that's wifey status and I'm girlfriend status". A few weeks later we were in Cuba on Vacation, and he proposed to me on the beach in the moon light!
We later decided to get married in Sept 2026. In Sept 2024, we booked a trip to British Columbia for May 2025.
Come December, and many, many wedding searches on Pinterest. I started to see photos of weddings in the mountains. Both my Husband and I, and are not big on large groups and I have a VERY LARGE Family. So we were finding it difficult to decided who to invite to our wedding.
One day I sent a text to him saying-"we should just elope when we are in B.C". He responds-"Why are you trying to rush this wedding?"
I said-" i just keep seeing pictures" (and sent a few pictures) we left it at that. That weekend, he came home and said - "you know what?, lets get married in BC!!!"
Within a week I had our wedding Planned and Booked.
Come May we are on the Best Vacation, Wedding, Honey moon trip . and came home married. We are both happy with the way we did it! it was our day the day we wanted.
BIGGEST CHALLENGE: "Being in another province made planning a little more difficult."
BEST MEMORY: "My Husband crying while he read the vows he wrote for me!"
ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: "Do it your way! Do not let others try to change your mind! its about what you want as a couple!"
