Jeanette and Bryan fell in love with Willow Creek Barn and they knew they wanted their wedding to be timeless. They came up with a champagne and neutrals wedding colour palette that complimented the rustic beauty of the barn.
COUPLE: Jeanette and Bryan
WEDDING DATE: August 19, 2023
Guest #: 75
CEREMONY & RECEPTION LOCATION: Willow Creek Barn Events “We knew we wanted our venue to be a location where we could have both the ceremony and the reception at the same place. Having a location where we could have an indoor reception was a must but also we preferred an outdoor ceremony (with the opportunity to relocate indoors weather permitted). My husband met Kim Vlasman through mutual friends. When we got engaged we reached out to her to see what her location was like. We were ecstatic when we toured the venue.
The vast property includes a creek, large willow tree, century barn and is surrounded by farmland. The property is just stunning. We quickly reached the conclusion that Willow Creek checked all of our boxes. On top of everything, Kim acts as wedding planner/day of co-ordinator which is included with the venue price. She offered ample support and advice. She was remarkable in making the day run smoothly. From renting our linens to ordering our liquor, Kim offered her support through every step of the way. She went above and beyond our expectations.” – J
PHOTOGRAPHER: Poppy & Pine Photography “Rachel is a close family friend and she has been photographing me for years. I chose her because I have so much trust in her, she is so talented and I love her style. I knew she would capture our champagne and neutrals wedding beautifully. A wedding is a very personal experience and you are letting someone in to capture very intimate moments. Which is why I think it is so important to be comfortable with your photographer. I wanted Rachel to be able to capture natural moments that depicted the essence of the day and I think she did just that. She ensures that you feel comfortable and nothing feels forced.” – J
COLOUR PALETTE: “Our colour pallet was champagne colours/neutrals and golds. We didn’t want to pick any dramatic colours or anything too trendy because we wanted something timeless. The venue is a Barn, so we avoided anything “rustic”. We came up with a champagne and neutrals wedding inspiration.” -J
TELL US YOUR STORY: “My husband & I met back in 1999 (when we were 4/5 years old), we both attended our neighbourhood public school and shared many memories that we love to look back on. We would spend many hours together either hanging out around the school yard or at one of our mutual friends’ houses throughout our public school journey. Entering high school, we went our separate ways. In the midst of COVID-19, we reconnected and our love sparked immediately.
Bryan likes to say that “our story is something that you would read about in books or a situation that somebody would make a movie about.” Once we re-connected, it never felt as if we were starting fresh but more picking right back up on everything that we’d missed out on. The only thing that I would change is that we rekindled sooner than we did, but everything happens for a reason and our lives have been perfect together ever since.” – J

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “Looking back I think our biggest challenge was making final decisions. There are so many choices you need to make when planning a wedding and it can be daunting. The best way to tackle this is just to pull the trigger and go with your gut.” – J
FAVOURITE MEMORY: “My best memory from our wedding day was when we first sat down to start our reception/dinner. Being able to witness our guests enjoy themselves and see all the fruits of our labour over the past 18 months come to fruition was awesome. It was nice to be able to sit down and just be with each other… especially after a few crazy hours of the ceremony, photo’s, etc.” – B
ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: “Trust the experts. When you go to your trials wether that be hair, makeup or your floral consultation listen to what they have to say and take that into account. Obviously everyone has their own taste but the experts will know the best way to execute your vision. It is also beneficial to reach out to your friends and family who were previously married to see what vendors they went with and who they recommend. Many of our vendors we chose based upon recommendations.” – J
