CEREMONY & RECEPTION LOCATION: Rock Star Music Hall “When we first started on the wedding planning journey, we attended our local wedding shows. We called and visited the Rock star music hall all within one day. They were very accommodating and made our planning so easy with ready to use decorations and ideas to help our dream rustic fall wedding come to life.” – S

PHOTOGRAPHER: Quinn Walsh Photography “I found our photographer Quinn Walsh on TikTok. I instantly started going through her page and loved the content and soon checked out her website. I showed Savannah instantly and we both loved the way that she captured beautiful moments and a couples love story all in one photo.

We knew she would be perfect to capture our rustic fall wedding. It was super easy from the get go to get in contact with Quinn. Once she saw our email of interest she immediately connected with us and set up a zoom call to get to know us and immerse herself in our wedding prep. We loved that she created and captured moments that were authentically us and showed our silliness and love.” – L

COLOUR PALETTE: “Our overall theme was a rustic fall wedding. We were trying to capture a beautiful fall wedding vibe with pumpkin centrepieces along with sunset, terracotta and burgundy colours and gold accents.” – S

TELL US YOUR STORY!: “I met Savannah during an important time in my life. She was finishing her college placement course at a school where I worked. Even though we didn’t talk much at first, I noticed right away how dedicated and hardworking she was. She had a real passion for teaching and helping children on the autism spectrum.

I was working as an Educational Assistant, a job I loved because it allowed me to help kids in their learning. Savannah was studying to become a Developmental Services Worker, and we both ended up working with the same student in the after-school program. Our paths crossed a lot, but we didn’t speak much. I admired her from a distance and wished I could talk to her more. She had a special way with the kids that I found really inspiring.

One day, I got a note from Savannah’s colleagues asking me out for a coffee. I was excited, but unfortunately, I didn’t get to see her that day. Time went by, and I thought maybe I had missed my chance. But then, in December, we met again briefly at the Jackson Park lights. The park was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and I was working a vendor stand. We had a quick chat, but before I knew it, we were going our separate ways again. I felt a bit sad, thinking that maybe it was just not meant to be.

But then, in February of 2020, I decided to take a chance. I reached out to Savannah, hoping to reconnect. To my relief, she responded, and we started talking again. This time, we didn’t let go. We realised how much we enjoyed each other’s company and how much we had in common.

From that moment on, we were inseparable. It felt like we had been waiting for each other all our lives. We spent a lot of time together, getting to know each other better. We bonded over our love for teaching and helping others, and our connection grew stronger every day.”- L

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “The biggest challenge we faced with our wedding was making sure we had our attire in order, fitted and custom to us. Alterations were super stressful as we were trying to keep on theme and feel comfortable all night. I custom designed a suit that did not work out and I had little time to find a replacement. After looking at all our local stores to find a suit to be ready on time.

I was informed I may have more luck in Detroit. Luckily I found two replacements for a price that one suit would’ve costed. Although alterations were our next tackle and We both didn’t get our clothes until just days before the wedding. We kept calm and all remained perfect in the end.” – L

BEST MEMORY: “The best memory we have together is our first touch and reading our vows in that moment. It was so wonderful to be in the same room alone just before to say what we wanted to say to each other and really live in the moment. It was a great way to start our wedding day. My personal best memory was the minute I turned around when Savannah got to the end of aisle, I faced away until I could feel her so close and when I turned around she took my breath away.” – L

ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: “Our advice together would be to remain calm the day of. Things will happen and it won’t go as planned but remember the wedding is for you and your loved one to be celebrated. At the end of the day you got to marry your best friend. Cherish every moment it goes by fast.” – S&L
