COUPLE: Taryn & Michael
DATE: April 26, 2026
GUEST #: 120
CEREMONY & RECEPTION LOCATION: Roseville Estate "We cannot say enough good things about Roseville and how much we loved our wedding venue. From the initial walk through to the day of the event, the staff were professional, communicative and all round exceptional. Our coordinator, Blair, was the BEST. We always left our site visits feeling reassured and worry free. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly. We have already received so many compliments on how everything ran like a well oiled machine. Dinner service was seamless and the food was delicious. Some of my major pros: large getting ready spaces for you and your wedding party, lunch service is included, only one wedding per day and you get free range of the property. It’s clear they’ve thought of everything and it made for a beautiful stress free day!" - T&M
PHOTOGRAPHER: Gary Evans Photography "When booking wedding vendors, a good photographer was a high priority on the list and we wanted to make sure the fit was right. Gary absolutely blew it out of the water. Not only are Gary and his wife Kim lovely to work with, they made every part of the process seamless and enjoyable. He attended our wedding with his second shooter Emily, who was a massive help and support throughout the day dealing with chilly temperatures. The photos turned out amazing!" - T
COLOUR PALETTE: Eucalyptus green, purple & gold. "Being that it was an April wedding, we really tried to lean into the spring theme with lots of greenery, fresh florals, and colour.
We worked with our lovely florist, Alona, to have two towers of flowers and greenery for the ceremony/reception space and also our personal bouquets. The remainder of the floral decor was DIY by my husband, we ordered bulk florals from Costco!" - T&M
TELL US YOUR STORY!: "We met in 2016 while studying at the University of Waterloo. My friends and I wanted to attend the engineering semi formal but, only one of us being an engineer, we needed dates to get in. We ended up hanging out with some mutual friends beforehand where I met Michael. We proceeded to the semi formal and he offered to be "my date" so I could get in.
We didn't initally talk after that night but we frequently saw one another in the residence cafeteria and ended up building a close friendship. We went on our first date in November of 2017. We love to cook together, kayak, go for hikes, play tennis, watch reality tv, and garden when it's nice out. On October 6, 2023, Michael prompted me for an after work walk on the Mill Race Trail in St. Jacobs, ON. It's one of our favourites to stroll along and we've seen lots of wildlife there over the years. After encouraging me, I reluctantly went on this walk with him where he inisted on bringing a camera to take pictures of the Fall colours.
While on the walk, Michael gestured to a small rest area on the trail where he set up his camera, supposedly to take some cute pictures of us. Little did I know, he actually hit record and filmed himself proposing. I'm just glad I changed out of my sweatpants prior! We spent a year and a half engaged and planning our wedding day." - T

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: "We are both big people pleasers and wanted to ensure the day was to our liking but also that invited guests enjoyed themselves too. It was a hard feat but was a great practice in boundary setting!" - T&M
BEST MEMORY: "Michael's initial answer was the food, but we both agree it was our first look. There was a lot of built up emotion. After all the chaos in the final days of planning and spending most of the morning separated, seeing one another was such a sigh of relief and brought forth a lot of tears. It was such a nice moment between the two of us." - T&M
ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: "The planning process can take up a lot of brain space. Things always felt lighter when we could cross things off a list, no matter how small. Getting it out of our brains and into action or even on paper allowed for us to channel our efforts elsewhere. We had to remind ourselves many times what this event was about and that the main thing was that we would be married. It's very rare that you can get together with so many loved ones for a positive occasion and reframing it this way really gave perspective. You got this!" - T&M
