COLOUR PALETTE:

DIY: We hand-curated and crafted our décor and invitations. We had gold cutlery, green stemmed glasses, green napkins and recycled glass centerpieces with real pompas and thistle. We added a smoking lounge and sweetheart table with lighted backdrop and arbor. To tie it all together, we used lots of greenery and hanging vintage windows.

TELL US YOUR STORY: “We met while volunteering for an indoor rock climbing competition. As we belayed side by side, we immediately hit it off. Chatting about the time that we’d each spent out in Western Canada. We didn’t start dating right away but we had caught each other’s eye. Shortly after, we kept running into each other at the gym and at the crag, where we discovered how much we had in common.

Fittingly the adventurers headed to Rattle Snake Point one brisk November afternoon on our first date. We spent the day caving underground, squeezing through pitch-black, narrow crevasses. Mid-date we stopped to take a break and admire the view from the ledge we perched on. There we both lit a cigarette and shared a few sips of scotch to warm up before the trek back. At that precise moment, I knew this was someone special. From that point on the we were practically inseparable.

In 2020, we were fortunate enough to get a site at our traditional fall camping destination Bon Echo. We’ve spent more time there than any other park and it holds a special place in our hearts.

On a cold, rainy October morning, we paddled out in our canoe to cross the lagoon and lake, intending to hike the clifftop trail. The waters were so black and choppy that I wanted to turn back. But Scotty insisted we continue. We made it! I was relieved but Scotty seemed rattled and scurried ahead, while I puttered along observing nature. Finally, I caught up to him at a gorgeous, secluded lookout point off the beaten trail. At that precise moment, Scotty knew the timing was perfect and nervously proposed on a bent and shaky knee.” – R
