Pink Fairytale Wedding

Caroline and Justin wanted to incorporate their love of Disney into their big day. Caroline wanted a pink fairytale wedding! They were able to add Disney touches throughout their wedding day. From their shoes to their seating chart they brought their pink fairytale wedding to life and had the most memorable day!

CEREMONY & RECEPTION LOCATION: Ancaster Mill “When we saw the waterfall at Ancaster Mill we knew we had to check it out. We loved hiking trails with waterfalls when we first started dating. When we went for a venue tour, it was stunning! They were great to work with and when we had questions, we could call the Special Events Office or speak directly with our Special Events Consultant. They were amazing on the wedding day as well with helping to set up the reception area. My Maître D’ from the Ancaster team was amazing! She helped fix my hair when it fell apart and would constantly check in. Overall, we had a great experience with the Ancaster team.” – C

PHOTOGRAPHER: Peter B Photography “We found Peter through Ancaster Mill’s preferred vendor list. I chose them because their pictures were stunning and their prices were fair. It was great working with them. Peter and his team made it very easy to pose for photos as Justin and I generally don’t like our photos taken. They captured all our moments on the wedding day and the turn around time for our photos was very quick. Our favourite part of the photos was being able to relive our pink fairytale wedding day! Looking at them made me feel like I was there again and it was great to see.” – C

COLOUR PALETTE: “The theme of our wedding was Pink Fairytale. We incorporated Disney details throughout our wedding day to bring our pink fairytale wedding to life. Both our wedding shoes were Disney-inspired, our seating chart had Disney character silhouettes and we had a red rose in a Beauty and the Beast class done.

For our bridal party, the bridesmaids wore a romantic dusty rose colour and the groomsmen had accessories in the same colour. For the decorations, I wanted to keep it simple as Ancaster Mill itself was already very stunning. I had green garlands and white candles for my reception and receiving tables as well as name plates painted in pink for our guests. The day was a dream come true!

TELL US YOUR STORY: “We met when we were in high school. We had a few classes together but were never really that close. One summer, when we were both in university, we started talking to each other after attending a party with some of our friends. We really hit it off and started talking everyday during Christmas break when we messaged each other over Snapchat about snowboarding. When Justin came back from university for the summer, we connected over a show that Justin really loves, Sons of Anarchy.

We started going out more during that summer and Justin asked me to be his girlfriend on August 14, 2015. We were dating long distance for the next 3 years as Justin went to university in Windsor and I stayed within the GTA. On October 12, 2021, Justin asked me to marry him. He chose that date because it had both our birthdays in it (I was born on the 12th and Justin’s birthday is in October). Now after 8 years together, here we are, married and starting our happily ever after… with our dog Brady!” – C

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “The biggest challenge was definitely planning it myself and finding all the vendors and getting all the decorations ready. I tackled it with the help of my bridesmaids. My best friend had just gotten married so she had a lot of tips and tricks as she also planned her own wedding. I also took it a day at a time and had the summer off so that’s when I really started to check everything off my to-do list.” – C

BEST MEMORY: “Justin’s best memory was the photo session. He had a great time taking the pictures.
Mine would be coming down the aisle and seeing Justin’s reaction. He said he wouldn’t cry but he ended up crying a lot that day!” – C

ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: “My advice for couples planning their wedding is not to stress about the little things. It will all work out and it’s important that you just enjoy the moment because it flies by!” – C
