Christine and Lily's vintage wedding was a beautiful blend of nostalgic charm and modern storytelling. Inspired by subtle 70s influences—without leaning into overdone retro clichés—the couple designed a day that felt effortlessly timeless and uniquely their own. Warm, earthy hues of burnt orange, mustard yellow, deep olive, soft pinks, and natural beige set the tone for a celebration rooted in intention and personality. Surrounded by nature and rich with thoughtful, handcrafted details, Christine and Lily’s vintage wedding was not just a reflection of their style, but a heartfelt expression of their journey, resilience, and love for creating meaningful moments together.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Allie Jennings Photography "We loved how intentional she was with her documentary-style photography. She was the perfect choice to capture our vintage wedding. She is a total artist in behind the camera!" - C&L
COLOUR PALETTE: "We wanted a vintage wedding that nodded to the 70s but without the obvious, overdone touches. No disco balls taking over, no predictable retro fonts. Instead, we focused on storytelling through design, blending vintage wedding inspiration with a modern aesthetic to create something that truly felt like us.
Nothing we found online felt quite right, even after hours of scrolling. So, we built our vision from scratch, pulling elements from different styles and making intentional choices with every detail. From the textures to the decor, everything was designed to reflect who we are and the experience we wanted to create for our guests.
Our color palette was a huge part of that. We leaned into warm, earthy tones—burnt orange, mustard yellow, deep olive green, soft pinks, and natural beige hues. It gave the day a nostalgic but fresh feel, effortlessly tying together every design element from the florals to the stationery." - C&L
TELL US YOUR STORY!: "We met on Bumble on Lily’s birthday. A few weeks of messages led to a first date that turned into a 10-kilometer hike after getting completely lost in the woods. No cell service, no backup plan—just the two of us figuring it out. It set the tone for everything that followed.
From that day on, we were inseparable. Texting nonstop, laughing at the same dumb jokes, trading music, and sharing stories until the early hours. It wasn’t until our first kiss, with Lily holding Maverick’s paw, that we knew. This was something real.
Life threw its share of curveballs. A year before our wedding, Lily was laid off, and not long after, my mom broke her hip, leading to months of hospital visits and uncertainty. At times, it felt like we were barely keeping up. Planning our wedding gave us something to hold onto when everything else felt overwhelming. And when things went wrong (because, of course, they did—our Airbnb canceling, a best man situation, last-minute pet sitter drama), we tackled it together.
Cranberry Creek Gardens was an easy choice. The venue wasn’t just beautiful - it had history and charm. We wanted something intimate but not small, grand but not overdone. It gave us the freedom to create an experience layered with personality, nostalgia, and intention. Choosing a location surrounded by nature, wineries, and fresh air made the weekend feel like an escape rather than just one big event.
We poured ourselves into every detail. Our DIY motel key tag seating chart, our Final Fiesta welcome party, and the hours spent sourcing vintage decor were all part of making the wedding feel like us. We thrifted, designed, and built so much by hand—not because we had to, but because we wanted to. Telling our story through design wasn’t a trend; it was who we are.
Looking back, the best part wasn’t a single moment. It was the feeling. The warmth of our people around us, the energy on the dance floor, the joy of seeing every detail come together. It was the celebration of a love story that had already been an adventure from the very start." - C

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: "Staying on top of everything while life kept throwing curveballs. A year before the wedding, Lily was laid off, and not long after, my mom broke her hip, leading to months of hospital visits and uncertainty. At times, it felt like we were barely keeping up.
The best way we tackled it? Taking things one step at a time, leaning on each other, and keeping the bigger picture in mind. Wedding planning gave us something to look forward to, even when life was chaotic. We also found ways to be resourceful—DIYing as much as possible, being flexible when things didn’t go to plan, and focusing on what truly mattered. In the end, every challenge made the wedding day feel even more meaningful." - C
BEST MEMORY: "The room reveal was a moment we’ll never forget. After months of planning, sourcing, and obsessing over every tiny detail, we got to see our vision fully come to life before anyone else stepped inside. The candlelit tables, the floral arrangements that exceeded our wildest expectations, the signage we had designed tirelessly ourselves—it was surreal. It was the first time we paused and truly took it all in before the whirlwind of the evening began. We laughed, we cried, and in that quiet moment before the celebration started, we knew every bit of effort had been worth it." - C&L
ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: "Prioritize what truly matters to you. It’s easy to get caught up in traditions, expectations, and what weddings are “supposed” to look like, but the best weddings are the ones that feel personal. Focus on the details that make the day feel yours, and don’t be afraid to skip things that don’t resonate.
Expect things to go wrong, because they will. The best thing you can do is roll with it, laugh when you can, and lean on each other. The small hiccups won’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but the way you handle them will.
Lastly, carve out a moment for just the two of you. The day moves fast, and having a private second to soak it all in together will be something you’ll cherish forever." - C&L
